BOOST DRINKS FOUNDER NAMED YOUNG DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR AT PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS
Simon Gray, managing director of Leeds-based Boost Drinks, has been named ‘Young Director of the Year’ at the (IoD) Institute of Directors Yorkshire and Humber - Director of Year Awards 2010.
The prestigious awards event, which is now its sixth consecutive year, was held at The Royal Amouries in Leeds on Thursday night.
The Awards, sponsored by Yorkshire Forward, are designed to celebrate the achievements of the region's most hardworking and innovative business leaders over the past 12 months.
This year’s award categories included Business Adviser of the Year, Not for Profit and Voluntary Sector Director of the Year, Young Director of the Year, Non-Executive Director of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Judges’ Special Award, SME Director of the Year, Director of the Year.
The Young Director of the Year award recognises the achievements of directors under the age of 42 who build and lead successful, growing and dynamic businesses in the Yorkshire region.
Speaking about the award Simon said: “I am obviously delighted to accept this prestigious award. It has been really successful year for Boost, and this award is the pinnacle of that success. Yorkshire remains a centre for regional entrepreneurialism and I’m proud to be able to make a positive impact.”
The award, is the latest in a string of successes for Simon, as Boost Drinks was placed at number 44 in the prestigious 2009 Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list of the fastest growing UK companies earlier this year.
As well as the prestige of being named Young Director of the Year, Simon receives a module of his choice from the Director Development Certificate and Diploma courses at Leeds Business School (worth up to £1,000), 12 months IoD membership and six month’s membership of Club LS1.
