BOOST FINALIST AT FWD GOLD MEDAL AWARDS

The event, this year sponsored by Britvic Soft Drinks, Baileys, Today’s Group and salesout are the highlight in the industry calendar and are designed to recognise and reward suppliers that have supported and made a significant contribution the wholesale sector throughout the year.

This year, Boost Drinks was nominated in the ‘Gold Medal Grocery Brand’ category sitting alongside FMCG industry giants such as Cadbury, Pepsi, Coca Cola, Mars and Tate & Lyle. The nominations for this category are made directly by wholesalers, who vote for the brand that has made a significant contribution to turnover and profit during the year to 31st July 2010.

The impulse and convenience channels are key markets for Boost, and wholesalers have played a significant role in the growth and popularity of the business.  The latest year-to-date figures show an increase of 49% within its key accounts, of which 97% are wholesalers.

Speaking about the nomination, Simon Gray, Managing Director of Boost Drinks said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been named finalists in the ‘Gold Medal Grocery Brand 2010’ category. Boost has a particularly strong presence in wholesalers, and I am delighted that the core Boost Energy range has really been adopted by them and is continuing to perform extremely well. To have been recognised for our contribution in this sector and to have made a positive impact, is a fantastic achievement, and the fact that nominations come direct from the wholesalers make it that bit more significant. We look forward to continued success in 2011.”

The award nomination, is the latest in a string of successes for Boost Drinks, it was placed at number 44 in the prestigious 2009 Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list of the fastest growing UK companies earlier this year, as well as Simon Gray being named ‘Young Director of the Year’ at the (IoD) Institute of Directors Yorkshire and Humber - Director of Year Awards 2010.
