Who are the three finalists?

The Rainbow Project | Newry City Special Olympics Club | GVRT – TREE Project

Three organisations in Northern Ireland have been shortlisted to the final of the 1st round of the Boost Choose Now Change Lives community grant initiative and are in with a chance of receiving a stake of the £10k grant. It is now down to the public to cast your votes and decide which organisation should receive the winning share. All finalists will each receive some support from Boost.

Rainbow

The Rainbow Project

The Rainbow Project is a health and wellbeing organisation that works to improve the physical, mental & emotional health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ people in Northern Ireland.

With the grant, The Rainbow Project are looking to employ a Sexual Health Assistant for a year to provide services such as sexual awareness and STI sessions as well as counselling and testing.

Newry City

Newry City Special Olympics Club

Newry City Special Olympic Club provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for people with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy.

With the grant, Newry City Special Olympic Club are looking to expand their paddle boarding club with the purchase of new equipment including new paddle boards and wetsuits.

TREE

GVRT - TREE Project

GVRT's TREE Project works on empowering people to make positive changes in there lives through mentoring, training, upskilling, learning new skills, working on gaining qualifications, etc. TREE stands for Training, Reskilling, Education and Employment.

The project will give people the opportunity to meet new people alongside learning new skills. The project will help learners earn an OCN qualification as well as buying the PPE needed for them to work.
